June Update
Sandra Owen and "Absolute Big Leaguer" have returned to the show pen
competing in the Adult Walk-Trot division after recovering from a severe
riding accident in February 2004. After achieving the goal of riding
and showing again, Sandy and "Abbie" returned from the spring NHQHA All
Novice Show as the winners of the Walk-Trot Open division. Watch for
them at the Firecracker Circuit showing under the assistance of Sandy's
daughter Kendra.
Very special thanks to Keith Angstadt of Bradford Equestrian Center for all
of his years of couching Sandy!

Also,
Sable Oak would like to welcome Shane and Andrew Riley to our team.
Watch for them in the Leadline classes!

June News
Sable Oak returned from Maine's first AQHA show of the season having
survived the 70 mph wind and chilly temperatures. Pat Johnson or Momma
Pat as she is known showed "Jack's Sugar Lump" to several wins in Select
Amateur Showmanship and Adult Walk-Trot. "Sugar" also placed 2nd in
Performance Halter Mares and picked up a 3rd and 4th place in Sr. Western
Pleasure with Sherrye, being the first Maine resident horse being called out
of the line up in a very competitive class. She also placed 4th and
5th on the second day with Kendra aboard.
Heather Cote and her new 2 yr old "Ain't I Detailed" had a great first show
not just due to winning the Open and Amateur 2 yr old Geldings class (being
the only exhibitor :( but, because "Jerry" did everything that was
asked of him in Showmanship and while being ridden! He was Reserve
Champion Gelding as well.
Ona Lee Corrigan and "Lindy's Hot Chocolate" made their debut in the Select
Western Pleasure placing 4th and 5th. Ona also placed 2nd in the
Select Showmanship. Kendra and Sherrye alternating showing "Oscar" in
the Sr. Western Pleasure placing 4th and 5th.
Lauren Jansen attended her first horse show and placed 4th out of 10 in the
Small Fry Showmanship and was 2nd, 3rd and 4th in Walk-Trot with "Absolutely
a Dude". "Pippin" and Sherrye were also awarded Grand Champion Gelding
on Sunday.
Chelsea Belanger and 23 yr old "Catari" improved their times from last year
in the Novice Youth Barrels and Poles placing 2nd in both. Sherrye and
"Cat" ran in the Open Barrels and Poles sweeping the events on Saturday
night and placing 2nd on Sunday.
It was a fun and relaxing first show and Sable Oak hopes to have more
clients attend future shows.

We at Sable Oak hope many of you will join us in wishing a speedy recovery
to our dear friend "Rugged Hour" after being diagnosed with EPM (Equine
Protozoal Myeloencephalitis) and Lyme Disease. Not only are these
diseases rare but, the odds of getting them together are slim. These
diseases effect the central nervous system and muscles and are transmitted
by opossums, raccoons and whitetail deer. Be aware of wildlife around
your stables and have your horses vaccinated against these diseases.
Last but not least, good luck to "LeaguersLopesNDreams" and Abby Danzinger
of CT. "Zima" will be staying with Abby at "White Birch Farm" in CT
and hope to make their Walk-Trot debut at the Oneco show at the end of June.
We will miss you Princess!!
